Software Developer

• Salary Range: RM2500 - RM5000



• =====Responsibilities=====
• While you will be reporting to a manager, you will be given a great deal of independence in handling software projects assigned to you. You will take ownership of your project and be expected to plan, build, research and solve problems largely on your own, with some minimal guidance from your manager. Examples of things you’ll be expected to do:



• - Decide on the ideal development platform/language to use
• - Plan your system architecture and development flow/strategy
• - Perform all actual coding and development
• - Work with bodies of existing code and make intelligent decisions with modifying them
• - Communicate closely with your manager and manage spec changes and quality control



• We work in a very lean, flexible and efficient way and expect you to do the same. Unlike most programming jobs you will not be given a fixed role in a team but will be expected to adapt and fit into any part of the software development cycle that you are needed in.



• Our expectations of our engineers are purely performance-based. Work hours are almost completely flexible and you are free to work whenever, from wherever you like, as long as you meet our productivity expectations.

• =====Requirements=====
• We currently work primarily on the web and mobile platforms. So you should expect to work with platforms like Ruby on Rails, PHP/MySQL, Titanium JS, etc. We don’t require prior proficiency in any of these. Even if you are proficient in a particular platform you will be expected to be comfortable with picking up new platforms and languages and learning things on the fly.



• We believe more in aptitude and attitude than in particular language/platform proficiency or years of experience. We’re happy to accommodate fresh graduates or self-taught learners and are happy to provide some measure of on-the-job training if we are confident of your potential.
• Ultimately we’re looking for someone with a strong knack for analytical thinking and a solid understanding of programming fundamentals, as well as good attitude and personality to fit into our work culture.
