Responsibilities

• To implement, monitor, maintain and improve occupational safety & health management system and compliances;
• To develop Safety and Health working programmes and strategies;
• To perform routine audit and inspection throughout the plantation and mills operations;
• To liaise with external government and non-government authorities to ensure compliance;
• To provide specialist advice and information on Safety and Health  and supervise changes as required;
• To produce ad-hoc incident and scheduled reports on inspection investigation results;
• To provide and coordinate the necessary safety trainings.

Requirements

• Candidates must possess at least a Recognized Professional Certificate / Diploma / Degree in Safety & Health Management and Registered Safety & Health Officer with DOSH (Environmental/Health/Safety) or equivalent.
• Green book holder.
• At least 3 year(s) of working experience in the plantation and oil mill industry.
• Good knowledge of OSHA 1994, FMA 1967, CHRA, HIRARC and other related OSH legislations.
• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Must be willing to travel extensively.

Industry - Plantation

Location - Sabah

• Support the company goals, policies and objective
• Develop implements and maintain safety & health policies, procedures and programs in line with guidelines by DOSH, modifies and updates Safety Policy, Procedures and Manual as needed
• Establish “0” injury culture by establishing and maintaining training, procedure development, awareness,investigation and equipment/facilities review process
• Ensures safety rules and regulation pertaining to work are conscientiously observed and complied
• Interface with applicable regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with their regulation
• Help establish “0” discharge culture by organizing teams to eliminate waste minimization effort
• Ensure all company policy and regulation adheres to site ECH audit requirement
• Provided staff leadership for site safety/health/environment committees
• Ensure industrial monitoring/assessment
• Instill safety awareness by training & educating all levels of employees and sub-contractors regarding safety & environment; by developing and providing individual counseling
• Prevent and eliminate/reduce unsafe practices in the production floor and shall be empowered in order to address potential imminent hazards; monitors changes and/or makes follow-up inspections

• Candidate must possess Diploma or Bachelor’s in Engineering (Environmental/Health/Safety) or equivalent
• Registered SHO by DOSH
• At least 3 years of working experience in related field
• Applicants should be Malaysian citizens or hold relevant residence status
